It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joel Arthur Lover. He passed away in hospital at the age of 84 in Florida.  Beloved son of the late Harvey and Mary (Heiber) Lover. Cherished brother of Sharon Barron. Loving uncle of Melissa and Jacquelyn Barron. Caring great-uncle to Parker and Reagan Bloom.

Born and raised in New York City, he lived there until relocating to Florida 10 years ago. He had a sharp sense of humour, was an adventurer and a world traveller.

 A very heartfelt thank you to Luis Rodriguez who for the last 9 years has been a devoted and compassionate caregiver, friend and “adopted” son to Joel and for greatly enhancing his quality of life.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday April 21, 2022 at 3:00 pm in the Adath Israel Section of Pardes Shalom Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at https://smclive.ca/. Shiva will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UJA or the Ontario Veterinary College – Pet Trust Fund.
