John Kirk

John was my friend and mentor for over 30 years. Through the past decode or so, when he lived through personal hardship of an unimaginable degree, he remained a calming person to all who knew him. He never let personal tragedy affect his disposition. He had helped and worked with so many people over the years that whenever you were with "Captain Kirk" people would always be coming over to say hello. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Johnny was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and a true friend. For Johnny, family was everything. He survived for over 20 years, against all odds, with a rare breathing disorder and lived to survive his dear wife Belle and sons Frank and Wayne. No parent should ever have to outlive their children. But, despite his heavy losses, Johnny still found a way to enjoy life, to the very end. Johnny, was a good soul with a kind heart and was a good friend to all his Shul buddies. You could always count on Johnny to be there. We had a special bond, I happened to know Johnny & Belle when I was a child. My best friend, her parents were close with them and from time-to-time she and her mother would take me with when visiting on a Sunday afternoon. Although, I hadn't seen Johnny in many years, 9-years ago we were once again re-acquainted when he was mourning his son Frank and I was mourning my dad. Although, we didn't recognize (or remember one another) after a little "Jewish" geography we had that "ah ha" moment remembering past years. Johnny, you will be truly missed. May your memory be a blessing amongst the other mourners of Zion & Jerusalem and may you now be at peace with Belle, Frank, and Wayne. Amen!

Dear Edie, Michael & Ashley, With our deepest respect to Johnnie, our thoughts are with you at this sad time.

He was truly a gentleman by anyones' definition. An example for all who knew him. My sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing, family and friends alike.

We are so sorry for the loss for Johnnie family and Shafey and her family. He was a good man and had great values. He will be in your hearts forever. Love Risa and David.
