With great sadness, we share the passing of John Komlos (Yosef ben Zahav ve Tziporah) on August 17, 2022, while surrounded by his family. Beloved and devoted husband of Erika for more than 51 years. Loving and admired father and father-in-law of Aaron and Melissa Komlos, Daina and Richard Bloom, Stephanie and Sasha Haghani. Adoring and fun-loving Grandpa of Ryan, Ezra, Leora, Eden, Elle, Tali, Cameron, and Mia. Brother and brother-in-law of Judith and Andrew Sanders, and Marianne and Stanley Price. A friend to many.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, and a proud former resident of Nahariya, Israel, John built his life in Toronto as a devoted family man with great integrity and the strongest of moral codes. A man who loved riding his motorcycle as a member of the “Yids on Wheels” and schmoozing over breakfast, he gave his time to causes that were close to heart, particularly Holocaust education.

Memorial donations would be welcome to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto or March of the Living Canada.

Shiva will be observed at 15 Newgate Road in Toronto following the interment. Visits are welcome 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. On Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Mincha/Maariv at 7:30 p.m.
