It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Benatar in Paris, France on January 6, 2024, at the age of 93. Loving father and father-in-law of Danielle and Stewart Turkenicz (Turk) and Patricia and Richard Cooper. Beloved grandfather of Sean Turk, Jamie and Jacquie Turk, Sarah and Baruch Harari, Emily and Koby Welman, Ryan Cooper and Isabella Leon, Zachary Cooper, Jesse Cooper and Talia Brock, and Aleeza Cooper. Great grandfather of Izzy and Ayla Harari, and Bella Turk. Joseph was the son of Moshe and Claire Benatar (née Amiel). He is survived by his brother Salomon Benatar, his sister-in-law Liliane Benatar and his former spouse, Shirley Amar. Fondly remembered at this time are his siblings, Simy and Moïse Elalouf, Isaac Benatar, Alice Benatar and Nadia Benatar.  He will be sadly missed by his loving nieces and nephews, Linda and Jean-Pierre Cachan, Monique and Patrice Charitonsky, Gaby Elalouf, Lucien and Suzanne Elafouf, Charles Elalouf, Simon and Catherine Elalouf, Laurent and Tania Benatar and Martine Benatar-Maleca.
