Larry Robbins

Larry was extraordinary in every sense of the word. His life was a symphony of laughter, warmth, and boundless energy. He had a unique ability to light up any room, leaving behind not just memories, but lasting impressions that will remain with us forever. Larry’s talents knew no bounds—whether it was his infectious laughter or his incredible gift for brightening even the darkest of days. He faced life's challenges with unshakable strength, never allowing them to define him. Through his stories, we saw a man who had weathered many storms but never let them extinguish his vibrant spirit. His integrity was unwavering, a quality that inspired all who knew him. More than anything, Larry was passionate—about life, about his loved ones, and about leaving a meaningful mark on this world. His personality was larger than life, and there wasn’t a soul he didn’t touch. He had an unparalleled ability to connect and to inspire, To have known Larry was a once-in-a-lifetime gift, one that we will carry in our hearts always. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and an extraordinary soul that will never be forgotten. May his memory be a blessing. His legacy will continue to live on through his children, family, and the countless lives he touched. May you find comfort in the extraordinary memories he has left behind.

My condolences to Wayne and the Robbin’s family. Larry will be missed. He was an icon and a legend in land development and always shared so many amazing stories of his experiences with staff. May the family find comfort in the memories of all his accomplishments left behind.

Dear Robbins Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of meeting and interviewing Zaidy Larry for the Toronto Jewish Video Archives project. It was clear from the moment we met that he was a special person with a big heart. He was grounded, welcoming, funny of course, and shared stories so generously that were both entertaining and insightful. While I only had the chance to sit with him for a couple of hours, his energy spoke to a person who must’ve had an impact on so many people’s lives. A truly one-of-a-kind soul. Your son, Allan, is devoted to the practice of Torah. Like you, he has a heart of gold always willing to extend a helping hand. He is a "character" adding levity towards the learning process.

So sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. He has left his mark on the future of our Jewish community through his leadership and philanthropy -especially to the vulnerable and young. Dear Robbins family, I remember your father A”H when I attended your grandfather’s shteibel on Bathurst St. every Shabbos some 60 years ago. He always gave me candies and treated me like a princess. May his neshama have the highest aliyah.

My Father, Albert Haltrecht z”l, worked for the Robbins family in the days of Paramount Construction. I remember my Father speaking fondly of Manny and Larry, always about the respect and kindness they showed him. My condolences to the Robbins family.

Dear Monte, Wayne,Allan and extended Robbin Families This is so sad to read. Larry was simply THE BEST. If your life crossed paths with Larry, consider yourself very lucky, privileged and blessed. He was so intelligent, so kind, so talented etc, etc. His and his beloved Miriam’s philanthropy for our Jewish community will be shared by many current and future generations. Tona and I met Larry and Miriam on a mission to Israel. So much energy and so friendly. On our return we got together with them. Always special to be in the room with Larry.
