Yochanan and his parents escaped from the horrors of the Holocaust and persevered, finding sanctuary in the nascent pre-State of Israel. He emigrated to Canada with his wife and first son. In Canada, Yochanan worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and children, as well as his sisters and parents in Israel. Despite all his hard work he always managed to maintain his sense of humour; bringing joy and laughter during tough times all the way to the week prior to his death. He was immensely cherished by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and will be missed.
