Linda Jean Freud

It is with great sadness that we announce that Linda passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 surrounded by her family at the Baycrest Hospital. Linda joins her beloved husband the late Michael, leaving her adoring children Adam and Ellie. She is survived by her brother Al and Pam Wilkinson, sister-in-law Joan Sokoloff, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Memorial donations in Linda’s memory may be made to Epilepsy Canada 1-877-734-0873.

Dear Adam and Ellie, I was shocked to hear of your mom's passing this morning. I worked with your mom for many years at H. J. Heinz. I have many fond and wonderful memories of your mom, the many laughs we shared, the talks we had (the group of us - Freda, Josie, your mom and me). I considered her to be a great friend. Also, all the help she gave me while working in the sales department. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with you both and your entire family at this difficult time.

Dear Ellie and Adam I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with your Mother for a long time at Heinz. She was a great person. She was always so pleasant to work with. She had a great sense of humour and was always willing to help anyone who asked. She spoke with such love of the two of you. I am sure you are missing her awfully. I was introduced to Linda as "Bub" in the spring of 1969 after becoming engaged to her older brother, Al. When Linda was a baby, her Mom would refer to her as the bubba so Al called her Bub as did everyone else in our family. It speaks to her good grace and humour that she put up with this unfortunate moniker her entire life. We are all shattered by her sudden and unexpected death. We all loved her so much and are deeply grateful to her niece Sarah "Suz" for organizing the Wilkinfreud extraganza, December 2014 here in Ottawa. All the siblings, cousins, grandkids, dogs together. Enduring memory of Bub dancing with my grandson Ewan. Deepest love and condolences to Adam and Ellie. Pam.
