Beloved husband of Miriam. Father and father-in-law to Bonnie and Nathan laurie, and Jeffrey and Viki lubotta. Proud grandfather to Emmy, Jack, Peter, Eden and Lev. Brother to the late Martin Lubotta.

Lornie, I miss you already! I will always remember you as a genuine, sensitive and caring person. Jack, Len and I enjoyed playing cards with you as we shared our house together with treats. Miriam's treats were always the ones we looked forward too. And of course the same groups of guys periodically ate pub food lunch while playing pool. You were always someone who tried to connect with others about the things they liked such as Jack about his band, me about my long-passed lecture career and EVERYONE about the music you loved while playing your favorite records. I hope you continue to do all these things and everything else you enjoyed, wherever you go now. If there's a Heaven you'll be there because that's what you unquestionably deserve! Loren was very knowledgeable in the stock market and in a lot of other activities that he enjoyed. I remember Loren and I arranging a tennis game at Mayfair in the middle of a big snow storm and we were the only two people playing in the whole club.Loren u will be greatly missed not only by your family but by your many friends. Dear Lubotta Family, Lorne loved life, family and friends. He really enjoyed socializing with friends when listening to Elvis( or other music) , playing pool, schmoozing over dinner / card games or reminiscing over the past. When he was telling a story for the 1st, 3 rd or 6th time he was so excited , he would raise his voice and would deliver the the story with every detail to convey the richness of the event. We loved hearing his infectious details of university ( toga party) Las Vegas, Niagara on the lake, plays etc. We will miss the stories, the laughs and times together. We will miss him,l..he made us laugh and old friendships was special to him. He loved telling how he met Miriam and he would light up with love and affection. It is with great sadness that we heard of Lorne’s untimely passing. We got to know Lorne as a gentle and caring man, always good natured with a smile. On many occasions we spent quality time with Lorne, with the inevitable discussion veering off in the direction of music; either a sing-a-long in the car to/from Casino Rama, or just sitting around. Lorne’s knowledge of music was beyond simply knowing all the lyrics & the music he loved to listen to all his oldies on records. On several occasions I would have late breakfast with Lorne at Cora’s and he loved to talk about his days when he was young going to Florida and lovely places with his parents. When he saw Arlene, he would always ask her “can you play this or that for me”. He will be greatly missed by all ! Entertain and sing for all above. May his memory be for a blessing. BDE. We laughed and joked about his music interests and his insights to investing. He new all the best 60’s and 70’s songs and artists. Together we changed Banbury Tennis club installing Lionel as the Pro instructor and opened membership to all local residents. Lorne had a good heart and a wonderful disposition. Dear Miriam, Bonnie & Nathan, and Jeffrey & Viki, Lorne was a wonderful cousin to me while I was growing up. I was/am the youngest Lubotta cousin, and Lorne was always kind and attentive to me. I have the best memories of him - he was a sweet and lovely soul. I am so sorry for your loss. Dear Miriam and family. I learned just today of Lorne’s sad death and offer you our deep condolences. While I haven’t seen Lorne much in recent years, we grew up together and as first cousins we were often in touch with one another. I have such good memories of Lorne - he was was a kind, sweet and thoughtful person who played an important role in my life as we were growing up. I regret that as we grew older, and I moved to Montreal, we saw each other less. I’m so sad that he is no longer with us. Sending you our best wishes, Miriam, for good health and long life.
