It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, Lorraine Joyce Mellon (nee Garshon).

Lorraine passed away unexpectedly on August 7th, 2024.

Lorraine was a devoted wife to the recently deceased Harvey Mellon.

Her love for her family was boundless. She poured her heart and soul into her role as a loving mother and mother-in-law to Richard and Randy, Robbie and Noa, and Corey. She cherished her role as a doting Bubby to Jaclyn, Jesse, Carly, Jordyn, Matthew, Hailey, and Justin, and adored being a great-Bubby to Lilah and Ely. She was a dear sister and sister-in-law to the late Alan Garshon and Susan Garshon, and was a proud aunt and Great-Aunt to Jeffrey, Shawna and Cameron.

Lorraine’s greatest joy stemmed from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kindness, unyielding loyalty, intelligence, and boundless compassion endeared her to those fortunate enough to know her.

For nearly five decades, Lorraine actively contributed to Pioneer Women/Na’Amat Canada, making a significant impact through her involvement. Her renowned talent for baking the most delicious chocolate chip cookies added to her remarkable legacy and brought joy to many.

Lorraine’s absence has left an enormous void in the hearts of all who cherished her, and her presence will be deeply and profoundly missed.
