Dear Diane and family I am so very sorry for the loss of Malcolm. I will remember him for his kindness, gentleness, and positive outlook on life. He was a real mentsh. I wish you all long life. May his memory be a blessing.

I was so sad to hear this news today. I have so many memories of Uncle Malcolm from when Marc and I were growing up... funnily enough, many of them seem to involve him paying us a mere pittance as we eagerly washed his cars, and stuffed "Ouch Kits" in the basement, surrounded by mountains of band-aids - maybe that was where Marc got his financial know-how! Uncle Malcolm will always be known to my kids by the way I demonstrate what I remember as his incredible-sounding sneezes, which used to make me break down in giggles every time. He was a gentle man, always letting us kids poke fun at his accent with good humour, as we asked him to say "book" over and over. I always remember, the night before my wedding, we had a dinner for the out-of-town guests, and my husband's uncle from Israel sat down next to Uncle Malcolm, speaking Hebrew, French, and Polish, but no English... and Uncle Malcolm didn't speak any of the other languages. I circled back to the two men, worried that they would be uncomfortable sitting there in silence together, but they were quite happy and seemed to be chatting. I asked Uncle Malcolm, with surprise, how they had managed to have a conversation, and said, "Oh, it's not a problem... I said, Poland? War? and he nodded and we made do!" Auntie Dianne, Andrew and Dana, Marc and Lindsey, and the rest of the Levstein gang - we are devastated for you and know that you will miss Uncle Malcolm immensely, but hopefully all of your countless memories will eventually help to heal the pain that you feel from his passing. Jim and I extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Dianne, Mark, Andrew and family for your loss. I always enjoyed visiting with Malcolm and Dianne during my trips back to Toronto. We always engaged in wonderful catch up conversations. Malcolm was such a sweet man and always curious about the goings on in Israel. How grateful I am that we were able to have a special family Shabbat meal during my visit in September. RIP dear cousin.
