We loved Martha so very much. She was one of the liveliest people we ever knew, beautiful inside and out, with a great sense of humour and fun, always hospitable, and filled with love. What I remember most vivdly about Martha was the very first day I met her. We arrived in Canada in 1959, and she was among the very first people we met. I was 16 and she was in her early 30's, and I remember my first impression, being struck by her sheer physical beauty. It took a while longer for me to recognise and appreciate the true beauty of her soul. Rosa and I extend to you our sincere condolences, with love.

A beautiful service for a truly beautiful and wonderful woman. She will be both missed and remembered by so many of us.. Gratefully, her legacy lives on in all of you who spoke with such poignancy about Martha's uniquely marvellous qualities. Marta was such a happy soul who always made you feel like the most important person in the room. I truly looked forward to seeing her at family occasions, and am so happy that she and my safta were able to find companionship in each other as long as they did. To Marta’s family: I was deeply saddened to be informed by Valeria of the passing of a devoted mother, grandmother , great grandmother and a special aunt to Val and her family. It is particularly sad that as Covid ravaged the world and here in Canada visiting one’s loved ones was denied in an effort to keep everyone safe from this horrific disease! As Val’s friend and neighbour for more than 40 years I was privileged to have gotten to know Marta and her late husband as well as Agi , Eldad and other family members so I am well aware of the closeness that existed between Marta and Val and her family . She was a bond that kept the family tight! A beautiful , smart, compassionate lady with a twinkle in her eye I had the luxury to visit and be welcomed into her home in both Toronto and Florida and was always treated to both her warmth and generosity, qualities which made me feel so comfortable ! LThere is no doubt that she became a surrogate mother and grand parent to the Huber family after Val lost both her parents! In the past few years her health declined so the visits to Val’s home in Ottawa ceased and their visits to her apt. in Toronto were few due to distance between them all! That being said the many memories the families have of good times shared with Marta are a blessing and will be kept alive for years to come! Agi please know that at this very difficult time I am thinking of you and am sharing in your grief and pain! Having lost my own mother in the past 3 years I want you to know that although your mother may not be with you in a physical way she will be with you in your thoughts forever! May she Rest In Peace!
