It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Mary (Miriam) Arenstein, surrounded by her cherished family at her Baycrest home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. She lived to 99 years; just shy of her 100th birthday milestone.

Beloved wife to the late Berel Berelovitch and the late George Arenstein. Devoted and loving mother to Mia and Stanley Miller, the late Ester Goodis, and Mimi and Simon Hoffman. Beloved and dedicated Bubbie to Beverley and Sam, David, Geoff and Robyn, Hillary, and great-grandmother to Ethan. Faithful and loving sister to the late Sara, Chana and Jacob Zaidlin, Judith and Chonon Levitan, and Freida.

A holocaust survivor who through grit and determination found her way to safety, eventually making a better life for her family in Canada. Her passions included a love for Israel, her honoured charities, an avid reader, and above all else – devotion to her family.

A true survivor up until the end! May she rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing to all of us!

Memorial donations may be made to the Farband of Lithuanian Jews in Toronto or the Apotex Centre, Jewish Home for the Aged (https://www.baycrestfoundation.org/Ways-to-Give/One-Time-or-Monthly-Donation).
