Loving father and father-in-law of Iris and Yaron Rissin, Tami Gabay and Chris Strome, Hadas Gabay and Jose Haidenblit. Cherished Grandpa of Danielle, Natalie, Dean, Nicole, Sam, Isabel, and Madeline. Memorial donations may be made to the Baycrest Foundation at 416-785-2875.

Date of Funeral: Sunday, December 12, 2021

Time of Funeral: 3:00 PM

Memorial Service Location: Graveside service

Burial Service Location: Pardes Shalom Cemetery, Iraqi Jewish Association section, 10953 Dufferin St., Maple.

Shiva Details: 257 Arnold Ave., Thornhill. Visits from 10am-1pm, and 3pm-8pm. Concludes Friday morning, December 17.

Condolences to all the family on the passing of Meir Gabay, especially his loving and supportive wife Dalia. Meir was a great friend of our family throughout the years. He had a wonderful sense of humour, intelligence and he was a good friend to my father, Avner Meiri. Like my father, Meir was proud of his Iraqi-Jewish heritage and Israeli background. We will always cherish the memories we have of Meir in Canada.

May you find strength and comfort though many loving memories. Meir was a great fishing partner and had a great sense of humor, He was a good friend for the past 53 years in Canada and a good friend of my brother in Iraq. They were classmates back then. I will miss him greatly but I will remember the fun with a good human being. My wife and I send our condolences to Daliah, children and grandchildren. With much love, Ellen & Isaak Dagan.

My deepest condolences to the Gabay family. As a home builder I was honoured to have Meir carry out all the electrical work on my homes. Not only did he do an excellent job but the lessons that he taught me while on site both mechanical as well as life lessons have stayed with me all my life. He truly loved his wife and children and constantly told me how proud he was of their accomplishments. Rest In Peace Meir.

Sending my deepest condolences to the Gabay family. As a home builder I was honoured to have Meir carry out the expert electrical work on the homes. While on site the lessons that I learned about proper electrical installations as well as life have stayed with me since. He was constantly telling me how proud he was of his wife/ children. Rest In Peace Meir.
