Morris, Mel. Passed away peacefully on April 1, 2016. Beloved husband of Ruthe. Loving and devoted father and father-in-law of David and Sherri Morris, and Hailey and Paul Diker. Cherished Zaidy of Hayden, Avery and Norah. Survived by his sister Ruth Cohn. He will be sadly missed and remembered by all his family and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Steeles Memorial Chapel, 350 Steeles Ave. West, Thornhill. Interment to follow at Pardes Shalom Cemetery, B’nai Brith section. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society 1-800-268-8874.

Henry and I are so sorry about the passing of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, Mel. As a consolation, at least he is not suffering anymore and breaking the hearts of his dear family watching him suffer. We will definitely miss him at hockey. Keep the memory of him close to your hearts during this difficult time.

Dear Ruthe and family, I am so sorry to hear of Mel's passing. I was in shock when I found out how ill he was. When I went to the funeral I was struck by the wonderful euology David gave - so much we didn't know about Mel came out. Who knew he played the piano? Or the trumpet? How gifted. How quiet, but nice.
