On April 11, 2020 we said goodbye to our beloved Menny Israeli. Born on May 17, 1950 to Moshe and Shifra Israeli in Braila, Romania. Beloved husband of Irit, dear father to Gilad and Ayelet, father-in-law to Chris, cherished grandfather to Paul, Jane, and Mary, great-uncle to Eytam, Re’em, Noa, and Ido, brother-in-law to Rut and Zigu, and uncle to Inbal, Dor and Aviv. Menny moved to Israel where he completed his degree in Electrical Engineering at the Technion, and met his wife Irit. He loved nature and traveling. He later moved to Canada with his family where he loved to explore the outdoors and nature. He was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller, and loved to share stories from his past, point out the planets and stars in the sky, and explain how things worked. But more than anything, he loved his kids, grandkids, and grand-nephews and was very proud of them. He would do anything for them, and drove thousands of kilometers to visit them without hesitation. He loved to play with his grandchildren and grand-nephews getting into the sandbox with them, playing games with them, and letting them crawl all over him. Menny always had a positive cheerful attitude and was eager to help others. He was a great man and very loved. He will be missed by many friends in the community. He volunteered in the community in Canada and in Israel. He was a member and leader of Toastmasters. He volunteered with ERAN, setting up all their IT infrastructure to enable Canadian volunteers, and answering calls for the Israeli suicide hotline . He volunteered with the Jewish food bank Chasdei Kaduri, delivering food to those in need.
He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
