Michael Klingbaum passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the age of 86.
A character. A story teller. A man with a heart of gold. His family was his universe.
Michael was a child survivor of the Holocaust in Poland. After the war, he lived in Israel serving in the Air Force, before immigrating to Canada.
Starting with nothing, Michael, alongside his beloved wife Elana of 61 years, built a new life in Kitchener and Toronto, and was the father of four children: Janet (Arthur Chippin), Mark (Ilene), Gale (Lorne Star) and Leonard.
While successful in business, Michael’s greatest pride and joy were his wife, kids and seven grandchildren, Alexander, Zachary, Alissa, Adam, Ashley, Jessica and Olivia.
Throughout his life, Michael was guided by “yiddishkeit, ” often through anecdotes and teachings.
A piece of Michael will live on in his family and those he touched.
