Moishe Gryfe

On Saturday, May 29, 2021.  Moishe (Melvin) Gryfe, much loved husband of Michele. Loving father of Daniel (Dena) and grandfather of Koby, Rikki, Alexander, Benjy and Mia. Dear brother of Bernie (Joy) and Bleemie (Yakov Hakuk). Uncle to many nieces and nephews who adored him.

Moishe was a man of many interests. He was a dedicated and brilliant baker who ran his family bagel business out of a humble shop on Bathurst Street. He worked in the bakery for more than 55 years, personally mixing his special secret recipe, a long time favourite of many.  Moishe was an avid fan of Jeopardy, his knowledge was broad, he delighted in trivia.  He loved TV and movies, especially classics such as Zorro, The Lone Ranger and I Love Lucy and a year would not go by without him watching The Ten Commandments.  He was passionate about boxing. One of his high points was meeting Muhammad Ali together with Daniel and Koby.

Moishe was kind and generous and good fun to be around. He gave his family a great life.

He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Ruth and brother Hersch.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Friends of United Hatzalah of Israel https://israelrescue.org/MoisheGryfe, Toras Yisrael Torat Yaakov (123 Grove Ave, Suite 222, Cedarhurst NY 11516), or the charity of your choice.
