Morris Leider

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Morris Leider on March 26th, 2021. Loving husband to Dina and wonderful father to Larry and Sandy and father in law to Alan. Devoted grandfather to Sydney, Ethan, Meagan, Justin and Keira. Beloved son of the late Pearl and Rudy Leider. Adored brother to Simon (Arlene) and Helen and brother in law to Shalom (Tova). He will forever be remembered for being a pillar of strength and for the joy he brought into our lives. Admired and respected by all.

Memorial donations in his honour may be made to the Association for the Soldiers of Israel 416-783-3053, the Heart and Stroke Foundation (Donate Here) or to the charity of your choice.

The funeral service will be live-streamed. Please go to smclive.ca on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.

We'll never forget you uncle Moishe. You worked so hard all the time but you were always there for your (extended) family. You always had a wink for me and some shtick you included me on. When Michelle and I introduced the family to Skylar and Jackson, you were there welcoming them to the same uncle Moishe all of my memories of you grew from. If filled my heart to see how quickly Skylar took to you and I know Jackson would have loved you the same... you'd really love the little guy, he's full of mischief. Ethan, I remember going to one of your birthday parties when you were very little and hearing your family talk and giggle about how much you resembled your grandfather. Then, when he joined the party, I though: “wow, now I know what they are talking about!” I also remember seeing the pride and admiring love in a picture when you joined your dad and grandfather’s fraternity. Meagan, when I attended Ethan’s Bar Mitzva, I remember watching how caring and attentive you were towards your grandparents: offering to bring them food, hugging them, and chatting with others them. It was easy to feel the love and dedication you naturally and lovingly have towards them. You are both so loved and admired; you make all your family so proud! I have so many fond memories (passover Seder / family events etc) of Morris through the years - he was always so warm, kind, friendly, bright with a great sense of humour. I will never forget the day when I first met him and he said to me "so you've never met a jewish person before.... Did you think we had green noses?" We personally had the pleasure of being in his company on several celebratory occasions. He will always be remembered for his generosity and good sense of humour and for the love of his Family. I have such wonderful memories of spending my younger years with the Leider family. It was always such a fantastic experience. Morris was so kind to Sandy's friends, and so funny! The Leider home was always warm and inviting, and whether it was hanging out with the entire family or spending summer days swimming with Sandy and her friends in the pool, I enjoyed every bit of it.
