Morris “Moe” Orzech

June 27, 1935 – March 26, 2023

On March 26, 2023, in his 87th year, Moe Orzech passed peacefully after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his son, Josh (Michelle), daughters, Kyra (Jeff) and Trisha (Rafael) and grandchildren Spencer, Jordan, Talya (Uriel), Shai, Levi, Hillel, Asher, Yehuda, William and Samuel.

Born and raised in Toronto to Rose and Max Orzech, Moe is predeceased by older brother, Louis, and sister in-law, Fayga. Moe was a graduate of Harbord Collegiate, the University of Toronto and Queen’s University’s first Law School class.

Moe founded Orzech & Associates in Scarborough, Ontario. For over 25 years, Moe provided the community with legal services. Moe was an active member in the Kiwanis Club of Scarborough serving in a variety of roles including President.

A lover of Toronto sports, Moe was a passionate Blue Jays fan having spent much of his youth playing baseball with his Harbord and neighbourhood friends. He enjoyed his many years of sharing seasons tickets behind the Jays’ dugout.

Just prior to getting sick, Moe had spent 6 glorious weeks surrounded by family and visiting historic sites in Israel. He amazed the group as Zaidie kept up with them and didn’t miss a thing.

Prior to his passing, Moe asked that we express his deep gratitude to the Shomrai Shabbos Chevrah Mishnayos Congregation and in particular Harav Yacob Felder and Rav Yehoshua Felder who guided him on his spiritual path and provided a place of great comfort and torah.

In lieu of any flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bikur Cholim (416-783-7983) or to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care (https://www.tlcpc.org/).
