Myrna Hurwich Silver

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the death of our beloved Mother, Myrna Hurwich Silver (Toronto, Ontario), who passed away on Dec 9, 2021.

She was loved by all that knew her & survived by her husband Dr. Harvey Silver; her son Michael Hurwich and his wife Natalya, her daughter Linda Hurwich and her husband Marshall, her stepson’s, Mike Silver and his partner Naomi, as well as Seth Silver and his wife Sue.

Myrna is also survived by her grandchildren, Sarah, Adam, Lauren, Emily, Stephanie, Jonathan, Joshua, and her step-grandchildren, Daniel, Jackie, Lexie, and Jeremy. She is also survived by her sister Gloria Title.

Myrna’s family & friends were everything to her & she was the glue that held them all together. She had a natural talent for piano playing & entertaining. She bravely battled many illnesses over the years, but ovarian cancer ultimately prevailed. She will be greatly missed.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Sunnybrook Hospital, North York General, to LHIN & Temmy Letner, & all the wonderful doctors, nurses & public & private PSW’s & caregivers who so diligently & lovingly cared for her right to the end.

Dear Harvey and family, Our deepest condolences on the passing of Myrna. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. Myrna lived next door to my grandmother on Markham Street and in later years Myrna and I lived on Rosseau in the apartment buildings , Bathurst and Wilson area. We both began our teaching careers at Finch Ave. E. Public School in North York and continued for several years. Our lives were intertwined from the very beginning . In our early married years we socialized together, Myrna always being the perfect hostess. She was creative, excellent baker and talented, gracing us with her piano selections while hosting special evenings at her lovely home. Her warmth, friendliness and beautiful smile was a drawing card for all whose lives she touched. In the latter years we would occasionally see one another at United Bakery or Windfields.Though she was affected with serious health issues she always managed her wonderful smile and positive attitude as we recalled fond memories of the past.
