Peacefully, at Baycrest Hospital on October 3rd, 2022, Holocaust survivor Nancy Kleinberg, beloved wife and partner for 70 years of the late Howard (Chaim) Kleinberg, passed away at age 95. Nancy was the beloved mother and mother-in-law of Bernie & Anna; Ira & Mindy; Brian & Simmi and Marla & Jack Samuel. She is mourned by loving grandchildren Natalie Kleinberg, Joshua Kleinberg, Ariella & Dani Goldstein, Rabbi Effie & Tamar Kleinberg, Talya & Dave Apter, Eliana & Zach Husynni, Adam & Galit Samuel, Aryeh & Chana Samuel, Racheli & Koby Spiegel, Erin Kleinberg & Mickey Lungu, and Adam & Jackie Kleinberg. Nancy was blessed with and will be fondly remembered by many great grandchildren as well as by devoted nieces, nephews and friends – young, old, Jewish, Gentile, religious, secular- who all adored, admired and respected her. Nancy was predeceased by her parents and five brothers – all murdered in the Holocaust. Days after liberation from Bergen Belsen, with remarkable determination, courage and kindness, Nancy saved the life of young man from her town who was at death’s door. Years later the pair reunited in Toronto and went on to share a wonderful life together.

Graveside funeral Monday, October 3rd, 4:00 pm at Bathurst Lawn Memorial Park, Wierzbniker Section. Funeral may be viewed via livestream through Steeles Memorial Chapel (please see above for link). Shiva will be observed at 89 Bevshire Circle, Thornhill with Shacharit Tuesday October 4th at 7:00am.
