Naomi Robbins

From the moment I met Neo, I knew I had met a lifelong friend. We had both been stuck in summer school and would pass the extra time talking about art we loved, music we were connecting with and, of course, debating politics. No matter how much time had passed since I saw her I always felt like we were picking back up where we left off. Her passion would radiate out from her as she spoke, and she was always a staunch advocate for those she felt didn’t have enough of a voice. We shared parties, friends and slow saturdays where we’d sit on her bed in the corner of her room and just relax. Some of my best high school memories were with her. During some of the harder points of my life, Neo would be there to lend her empathetic ear and then cheer me up with the type of ribbing I’d only get from my closest boys. She knew just how to get me out of what she called my “emo John” thinking, giving me perspective and helping me take things a little less seriously. While I’ll always feel the Naomi shaped hole in my life, the pain is turned bittersweet by all the memories old and new that we made together. I was hoping to see her in the new year and that makes this so much harder. I’ll try to not think back with regret and remember the person she was; funny, kind, caring and one of my closest friends no matter how far apart time or distance took us. Neo, your friendship and love helped make me who I am and I’ll miss you. My deepest condolences to Miles, Sarah, Lily and the rest of the family. I know Naomi will be deeply missed. I wish I could have been at the service but I was dealing with a health scare on my wife’s side. Naomi was a beautiful person inside and out and the world is lesser without her. She will live on in our hearts and memories forever.

My sincerest and deepest condolences to all who had the pleasure of loving Naomi. Our shared love of plants brought us togeather, but her genuine love and empathy kept us close. Days, weeks, or months could go by and she made you feel like no time had elapsed. She was there for me in some of the hardest times of my life. Always inspiring me to continue on and live the life she thought I deserved. She showed me that having a voice, even the loudest in the room, was better then staying too quiet. She fought so hard for the things that filled her life with passion. Advocating for all living things. Her spirit and her light will always be cherished my in memories. Oh sweet firey human, I hope there is all the most rare house plants, bountiful amounts of sushi, and all your beloved past pets with you now. I was blessed to have known you and your life greatly affected mine. Rest peacefully.

To Lily, Sarah, and family: My deepest condolences on your loss. I hold fond childhood memories of playing with Lily, and though I only met Naomi a handful of times, her confidence and vibrant energy left a lasting impression. May her memory continue to shine brightly, and may you be surrounded by comfort, love, and healing during this time of sorrow.

Naomi taught me about courage and kindness. She had more conviction in one breath than I have in my whole body. She showed me that life could be better, and that I could build a life of authenticity and courage. She was a wonderful friend, even though we’ve only known each other 2 years. I’m grateful to have known her.

Naomi was abundant with life and love and laughter, energizing any room they walked in, making all feel welcome, safe, and wanted.
