Ninel Margolin, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on March 24, 2025 at the Extendicare Bayview Long Term Care Home in North York at the age of 90.

Ninel was born on July 7, 1934 in Gomel, Belarus.  She is predeceased by her parents Zalman and Bronislava, her husband Yosef, her son Alexander, and her daughter-in-law Dina.  She is survived by her son Gideon, her brother Roman, her grandchildren Victoria, Jonathan and Jessica, her great-grandchildren Sophie, Joseph and Matthew, and a host of other family and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Ninel was a woman of profound strength and courage.  Through all of her life’s many trials and tribulations – for which there were far too many – she persevered with incredible grace and kindness, always putting others before her.  She did not have a single bad bone in her body, and weathered life’s many challenges with a smile on her face while offering comfort and support to those around her.

The love she showed others knew no bounds.  As a nurturer and caregiver by nature, she never wavered in caring for those she loved, offering a beacon of stability in the lives of her family and friends.  As a devoted wife, she supported and nurtured her late husband in times of both health and sickness, having cared for him through to his very final days.  As a loving mother, she passed down her good nature and values that will reverberate and endure in the generations to come.

Ninel was happiest when she was taking care of others, and her door was always open to anyone who stopped by.  With a passion for cooking, she took great pride in hosting family gatherings and making sure everyone always had a full plate in front of them before she would take a single bite.  She especially took joy in making sure her grandchildren were well fed and taken care of.  Some of the best memories her family and friends share were sitting around the table with her.

Ninel’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.  Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she has touched.

The funeral service to honour Ninel’s life will be held on March 27, 2025 beginning at 2pm in the Steeles Memorial Chapel, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate her life and mourn her passing.  May she rest in peace, knowing that her love will endure for eternity.
