Noe had a long and accomplished life. We have lost a great individual, scientist and physician. He will be missed by so many. Deepest sympathies to family and friends.

The world has lost a great man. I remember being with him in Neuchatel Switzerland with the team when he walked into a glass wall and bumped his nose. In classic Noe form he made a joke about it and laughed it off. His kindness, vision and efforts to make the world a better place will be sadly missed at a time when we need it most.

My sincere condolences to the Zamel family.

Noe was a professor, a scientist, a mentor and a very good friend. He was like family to us. He will be very much missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Regina and family.

Dear Regina and Family, I just watched the beautiful service and tribute to Noe. There was no one like Noe. He was always learning, always curious- a brilliant and thoughtful innovator/colleague/mentor and friend who left a huge legacy in our field. He was also such a gentle, kind and thoughtful man who always made time to speak with you about your life, your family, your triumphs and your challenges. His love of family was always so clear and this moving service only made this more evident. Knowing Noe was a rare gift and we will all miss him terribly. Dear Regina, Ricardo and Brothers, I have no words to describe what I felt when I got the news. I am deeply saddened for his loss. It's been a long while we did not meet again, but have always been in my thoughts and longing to meet Noe and you. As a pulmonary fellow in my final year of training, I was at Mount Sinai Hospital for a rotation learning pulmonary function testing and interpretation. Noe was the lab director and teacher. I recall vividly him coming into the office one morning with a big smile on his face and announcing that his 200 th paper had just been accepted for publication. That was 37 years ago !! As well as being a renowned researcher, he was a great teacher who brought life to pulmonary mechanics and bridged the gap between science and bedside medicine. A truly great and humble man. I am deeply saddened by Dr. Zamel's passing. He was compassionate & always supportive of his staff. His passion for research brought him to many places in the world. I am very proud to have been his secretary for 31 years. My heartfelt sympathy to Regina & all the family.

Dear Regina, as you well know I was one of many fortunate people who had experienced first hand what a kind and generous man Noe was. His ocean of knowledge was limitless and he benefited everyone from it. He was the genuine guide and mentor and his pearls of wisdom overflew from the ocean of his knowledge and guided anyone who needed direction. I was immersed in that ocean until the very end. Therefore you can imagine that my soul has felt so sorrowful. I have found solace in reading the following passage from Baha'i ures. I hope you do not mind that I offer it to you. Dr. Noe Zamel was an early mentor for me in my new role as the Medical Director of the Ontario Thoracic Society in 1981. His constant smile and enthusiastic support were always appreciated. One special memory was when he brought his two young children to a conference meeting. They were quietly exploring the "wonders" of new computer technology.
