Norman Oscar Kieffer, a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, in Toronto, surrounded by his closest family. Born on March 24, 1949, in Toronto, Norman’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He was a devoted father and father-in-law to Jason and Carrie, and to Elliott and Victoria, and a cherished grandfather to his grandson, Emmett. Norman’s love for his family was immeasurable, and he found great joy in spending time with them. His companion, Linda, brought light and happiness into his life; their bond was a true source of strength and comfort.
Norman was also a beloved brother-in-law to Ossy and Barbara. He held a special place in his heart for his niece, Alyssa, and her partner, Patrick, as well as his nephew, Mitchell, and his wife, Niloufar. He deeply valued the time spent with each of them.
A true animal lover, Norman shared a special connection with his beloved dog, Fritzy, who brought him endless companionship and joy. He had a passion for wintering in Florida, where he found peace and relaxation, and he was an avid baseball fan, taking great pleasure in the game.
Beyond his love for family and simple pleasures, Norman was known for his generous spirit and kind heart. He was a pillar of strength and support to those around him, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In honour of Norman’s memory, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of shiva gifts, donations be made to Princess Margaret Hospital or SickKids Hospital—two causes close to his heart. Any contributions made in his name would be deeply appreciated.
Norman’s legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the light and laughter he brought into the lives of others. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and cherished.
