It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Fulop, who died peacefully on April 20, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was 77 years old.

Born in Hungary on August 27, 1947, Paul made the courageous journey to Canada in 1968 in search of a better life and new opportunities.. With determination, warmth, and unwavering love, he built a life full of meaning, joy, and connection.

Paul was a devoted husband for 55 years, a constant and loving presence in the life of his beloved wife, Ildi. He was an incredible father to David, Robyn, and Andrea, and a proud, doting grandfather to his cherished grandchildren Jacob, Jesse, Ethan, Joshua, Maya, Leora, Ezra, Sender and Alyssa. He was also a beloved brother-in-law to Peter and Lisa, and a fun-loving uncle to the late Benjamin Becker (AH) Daniel and Jessie Becker, and baby Brooks — each of whom he adored deeply.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, Yetta (Olga) and Bela Fulop (AH), and his late parents-in-law, Edith and Bela Becker (AH). He also leaves behind the extended family he grew up with — Magdus and Ernest Strauss, Joe Markovits and Eva and the late Ted Markovits (AH), and their families — who held a special place in his heart. Being an only child, Paul cherished his family and extended family deeply. They meant the world to him.

Paul was a hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. Whether it was providing for his family, offering a helping hand, or simply fixing something around the house, he approached life with dedication and determination. His strong work ethic was matched only by his sense of humor.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep sense of loyalty, and above all, his wonderfully wacky sense of humor. His quick wit, unexpected one-liners, and contagious laughter brought joy to everyone around him. He had a way of making people smile — even through the hardest times.

Paul’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. He leaves behind a family who adored him, countless memories, and a spirit that will never be forgotten.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May his memory be a blessing.
