It is with extreme sadness that I advise of the passing of our Dad, Husband, Father in Law, Grandfather, Great Grandfather… Paul-Henri Rips (Papa Paul). You will be dearly missed by us all. Fly high with the angels, rest in peace. Love you always and forever. Love your Wife Lilli (Poulet), Children Ira, Allan, Larry, Arlene, Grandchildren Bevlyn, Josh, Ellie, Tal, Shayna, Keri, and Great Grandson Leo.

I remember all the times I spent in your house and the fun times we had together as we grew up together. Monsieur Rips and I sat at the same table at the Dinner of Miracles in 2009 in Toronto. He told us his story about how he and his family escaped Belgium and then France, spent the war years in Zaire, and then went on to South Africa. He was an interesting and charming man, and I was sorry to learn that he passed away.

I admired him so much - such a wonderful husband and father, a gentleman, an intellectual, a survivor and a wonderful artist - I loved his paintings. He was so warm and engaging, and always had a mischievous glint in his eyes!! The world was richer with him with us and he will be deeply missed. I am so sorry that I cannot be there as a support to you and your wonderful family. I know that my mom would be there for you if she could.
