In memory of my mom, Paulina Vikhman, July 13 1931 to June 12 2017. Mom was a strong, independent and very proud. She lived through the war in Russia; was a top student; worked, married, and had me and my brother Michael. She went through immigration with my father Boris, from the USSR to Canada in 1980, but they divorced a few years later. In her youth, she loved to travel. She had a slightly eccentric sense of humour. As my brother’s mental illness unfurled itself, she devoted more and more of her life to taking care of him. She was very proud of me and my achievements, while never wanting to impose on me. She remained fiercely independent. I love you Mom, and I will miss you forever.
