LIPSON, Pearl – Peacefully, on Saturday December 25th, 2021 at Hill House Hospice. Av Holocaust survivor. Pearl Lipson, beloved wife of the late Max Lipson. Cherished daughter of the late Hena (Yavorniker) and Jacob Rubinfeld. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Helen and the late Peter Schreiber and older sister to Sonja, Rifka and Hershel who died during or just before the Holocaust. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Will and Dayle Lipson, and Helen Lipson-Fox and the late Joe Fox. Adored bubbie of Danya (Serge), Jeffrey, Brett, and Jacob, and great-grandmother of James. Pearl will be greatly missed by her nieces Carol (Zan), Michele and Monique, to whom she was like a second mother, and all her grand nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Tessie for her care and devotion to Pearl over the past 6 years. I was saddened to learn that Mrs. Lipson had passed away. She was a lovely woman, cheerful, energetic, and without malice toward anyone. My parents, Chaim and Rena Goldstein, were very friendly with Mr. and Mrs. Lipson, from their first days in Winnipeg. You may not remember me, but I remember Helen (Henya) in her crib, and her sister Helen, as a young girl, also in Winnipeg, obviously enjoying riding her bike. There were letters, and pictures, and good wishes at Rosh Hashannah, when the Lipsons moved to Toronto, especially when Willy was born. And Mr. Rubenfeld was admired and highly respected by all of us. Mrs. Lipson was a loving and dutiful daughter. I can say that because I was there. Finally Mr. Lipson convinced my Father that Toronto was a good bet and we followed. There isn't anything that can be said to offer comfort when a parent passes away. I hope that these few words have at least expressed my own connection, affection and respect for the Lipson family. May you know only joy from here on. Sheine Mankovsky (Goldstein) and family
