It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Beaver on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Beloved husband of Debbie Beaver. Loving father and father-in-law of Marni and Leo Goril, and Liza and Lee Cohen. Cherished Zaida of Talia, Eli, Orli, Kobe, and Theo. Dear brother-in-law of Jackie Gross and uncle of Adam and Nicole Gross, Vida Gross and Matt Osen, and Rick and Patty Beaver. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association 416-363-3373.

Debbie, Marn, Liza and family we are all so devastated by the loss of such an amazing man. Philip was the kindest most loving guy around. I have fabulous memories growing up in your house. Your dad was always so welcoming and thoughtful. He often thought of me on his work trips and would bring home an elephant figurine for me. We loved going for drives in ‘Mr Beav’s Car. Though it’s been almost 50 years my minds eye pictures Phil & Debbie gliding across the dance floor on Sunday nights at the south Y doing the stroll or the hustle. I remember running into Phil numerous times at the Swing In at Crystal Beach or just hangin our at Lawrence Plaza. Phil could dance with the best of them and was a class act.. Deb, sorry I'm not there to give you a hug. I was one of the lucky many( some of them real characters), to spend great times with Phillip, and with you. Ah, the stories :). He was special, and I miss him. My condolences to you and your family.

Debbie and family, I am saddened to hear of Phil's passing. I spoke with someone recently who said he had not been well. I don't know what to say because I can only reiterate everyones comments on what a kind and gentle soul he was. He was the definition of mensch. My late husband Freddie (2012) was good friends with Phil and thought the world of him. I can still remember meeting for coffee at bagel world beside his shop on Wilson so many years ago. He was loved by so many and will be sorrowful missed by all the lives he touched. Please accept my sincerest condolences and may his memories keep him in your hearts forever. Susan Adler

Philip was a like a breath of fresh air in smoggy LA where we met in the 70’s. There was no mistaking his true character after only a short time. Meeting Debbie & later the girls made for a lasting bond. Through calls & visits to Toronto, we kept in touch, especially during this past year. Mensch has been mentioned by others & we concur. We’ll miss you, dear Phillip & never will you be forgotten

Philip was unique - always concerned about others and offered advice where he felt he could be helpful. He was a true people person - loved having people around and befriended many, no matter their station in life.
