It is with a heavy heart that the family of Phil Bloom announces his passing, in his 85th year, peacefully and surrounded by his loving and attentive family on January 27, 2022, In Toronto, Ontario.

Phil’s love of laughter and fun will be forever missed by his children Tamara and Richard Haskin of Potomac, Maryland, David and Lorraine Bloom of Toronto and his adoring grandchildren Stephen and Matthew Haskin, Josh, Benji and Rachel Bloom. Phil will be lovingly remembered by Doris and Richard Stern, Gabriella, Tony and Mikayla Young, Jeremy and Gena Stern, his brother and sister-in-law Larry and Linda Bloom and his brothers in law and sisters in law Philip and Bernice Shaposnick, Thelma and the late Harry Savelson. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Phil was born to Libby Lewkowitz in Montreal. His stepfather Max Lewkowitz also had a big impact in his younger years. His dear aunt and uncle, the late Dorothy and David Povitz, always held a special place in his heart.

Phil had a creative mind that led to his creating a whole new world when it came to throwing parties. Over the past 6 decades, through his party planning talent, and gift for making his client’s dreams come true, he touched many lives. Phil was a well-known personality, and he could not go anywhere without being recognized and everyone wanting to express their love for all that he had done for them. He was also a great supporter of many charitable causes and was so honoured to be recognized by the Hope and Cope organization for his years of support.

Phil was a true Montrealer, and was not happy to leave his dear city, but in April 2018 he made the move to be with his family in Toronto, who were so happy for the chance to spend these last 4 years with him. The family will be forever grateful for the loving care and devotion of Rosalie, Rhonda and Melanie as well as Susan and the entire family of staff at Constantia Residence as his health began to fail.

The eternal 29-year-old will now be able to continue to party on.
