Philip Meyer Good, businessman, limo driver, Blue Jays superfan. Peacefully at Harmony Hills Care Community, on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at the fine old age of 93. Beloved husband of the late S. Charlotte Good. Loving father to Cynthia and Sherry, and father-in-law to Dan Aronchick and Steve Daniel. Predeceased by siblings Sam, Ernie and Lorna. Brother-in-law to Sylvia Melvin and devoted uncle to his many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.Proud veteran of Mahal, Philip fought for Israel’s independence in 1948. He was a long-time president of Sunnyside Cemetery Association. He loved engaging with people, Star Trek, baseball and music at The Rex.Our most sincere thanks to the caring staff of New Horizons Tower, where he lived happily before his Alzheimer’s advanced, and our deepest gratitude to the amazing caregivers, cleaners, administration, and nursing staff of Harmony Hills Care Community. We will never forget you. Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Good. We used to live across the street from you on Chelmsford, and we knew Mr. Good to be a kind and generous man. He always had a warm smile on his face with a special twinkle in his eye every time he saw us. Even as children, we always viewed him as a cheerful friend, and that is how we remember him now. He also played a very important role in the future of our nation, as he fought in Israel's War of Independence. It is perhaps fitting, therefore, that his passing was on Israel's Independence Day. Our national holiday will be forever intertwined with his life, and now with his blessed memory.

Dear Cynthia and Sherry, The rest of our boys join Miriam and me, and Yehuda below, in remembering our dear neighbours - your folks. Your Mom always prepared the most interesting Pesach seders, writing her own haggada each year, and your Dad could occasionally be convinced to share stories of his wartime experiences. He was very proud - but not boastful - of his experiences in Israel's War of Independence. He was very involved in the Sunnyside Association and served for a while as its representative to the Toronto Hebrew Memorial Park, where he and I sat together. He was kind, wise - I often approached him for a saner perspective on things in which I was involved, and he never disappointed me - and generous, often presenting our boys with Blue Jays tickets for games he and Charlotte could not (or chose not to) attend. And if he had a say in the matter, I'm certain he chose to pass from us on Israel's Independence Day. May his memory forever be a blessing to you and your families, and to all who knew, loved and respected him. HaMokom yinochem.

Most wonderful memories of Phil and Charlotte, who were close friends of our family, and godparents to Morgan my daughter. All of us including Tammy, Jenny, Morgan and Kayla have fond memories of 'sweet' Philip. Our hearts go out to his beautiful daughters and their families.
