We were so shocked and yet completely so saddened & devastated, upon hearing about Rachel’s passing! We had a very special bond with Rachel & Jeff, in many social gatherings to which started out as a ‘singles’ group’ and eventually became so much more! Rachel was always so warm & approachable, that would draw anyone in like a magnet. She was beautiful inside & out. My biggest regret, is that overtime, we lost contact with such a wonderful fun-loving couple! Hence, we still have so many of the wonderful photos to look back on. In fact is was only just recently, when a group of us were reminiscing and talking about those wonderful parties & gatherings etc .. and suddenly found ourselves talking about Rachel and Jeff! To Rachel’s family. I was currently taking her History of Furniture class and we clicked since day one. I was heart broken to hear the news about her passing. She an amazing teacher that touched and inspired many of us, but most importantly she was such a kind person with a beautiful soul. I am happy she was put in my life and taught me something she was so passionate about, but I am also incredibly sad she was taken away. May her memory be a blessing!! I’m so sorry for her loss!

Just so heartbroken to hear of the tragic loss of Rachel. Sending heartfelt condolences to her family and those that loved her. I have not known Rachel long, I am one of her students at George Brown College this semester. I looked forward to each and every class. I hung on her every word. She was so passionate, interesting and informed and it was clear that she was also extremely caring. She always had time for her students, she would ask about my work, always with a kind of honest enthusiasm not often encountered. She will be greatly missed by all her students. Please know she touched so many in her teaching and we are all lucky to have crossed her path.

I was shocked to hear about the loss of this warm, bright and beautiful woman, a treasure to your family. My husband and I came to know Rachel when we were neighbours on Hilton Ave. When we moved to a condo, she helped make our new place special with her kitchen and bathroom design. But most of all, it was her wide smile and shining eyes that greeted you when she saw you that endeared her to us and others who were lucky enough to know her.
