Rachel Abecassis Kassin was a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world peacefully on the 18 of Iyar at the age of 65 surrounded by her beautiful and loving family.

Rachel was born to Isaac and Liliane Abecassis on October 1, 1956. She has 2 brothers, Messod and Aron Abecassis. She had a love for traveling and was fiercely independent, proven by moving from Canada to New York where she married and had 4 amazing children: Leo, Jack, Esther and Sarah.

Rachel’s pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and her mother, Liliane. No matter the situation, she always made time for her family. Whether it was a FaceTime call or running errands for her family, she was always there with a smile on her face and a helping hand. Rachel was a fighter through and through. She was selfless, energetic, strong willed and determined woman who raised all of her children to be the same.

Rachel loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always the life of the party, being the first one on the dance floor and the last one off. She had an amazing sense of humor and a joy for life that she shared with everyone she met. Her presence will be greatly missed among our community.

The family will be observing Shiva at Tiferet Israel Synagogue, 756 Sheppard Ave. W., M3H 2S8. Visitors are welcome daily from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. Mincha will be held daily at 6:50 p.m. with Arvit following Mincha.
