After a full and wonderful 102 years, Regina Grinstein passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026. A Holocaust survivor, she transformed profound loss into a life marked by resilience, devotion, and responsibility to those she loved. In the years following the war, she played a central role in helping her family rebuild their lives, bringing loved ones from Europe to Canada and laying the foundation for generations to come.
Beloved wife of the late Chaim Grinstein (z”l, 2002), and dear sister of the late Lucy Ber (z”l, 2023), Morris Waithorn (z”l, 2025), and Simon Weithorn (z”l, 2026).
Regina was a cherished presence in Toronto’s Jewish community as the founder and heart of Regina’s Dairy, a family-run prepared foods and catering business that served generations of families in Bathurst Manor and is fondly remembered as part of the neighbourhood’s daily life and social fabric.
A revered family matriarch, Regina’s memory is mourned and her life celebrated by her children William and Sandy Stone, and Martin and Lucy Grinstein; her grandchildren Aaron and Corina, Jennifer, Michelle and Dushan, Matthew and Elana, and Jonathan; and her adored great-grandchildren Ryan, Olivia, Lulu, Jonah, Emily, Jake, Riley, Logan, and Ethan, as well as her loving extended family.
Regina will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the beautiful smile that made all who met her feel seen and cared for.
In our hearts forever.
