Renata Eisen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, died peacefully in her home on June 24, 2016, surrounded by loved ones.

She is profoundly missed by her devoted husband of 65 years, Alexander Eisen (Shlomo), daughter and son and their spouses, Karin Eisen and Ron Poizner and Doron and Monica Eisen, five grandchildren, Jared, Jonah, Dara, Nicole and Ruthie, loving caregiver, Leticia Escalona, nieces and nephews and their families in Canada and Israel, and many, many friends.

Born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia the youngest of four children, Renata was a survivor of the Holocaust.  Fleeing with her parents and a brother to Italy and later to Switzerland, Renata eventually moved to Israel, where she met Alex, her life companion.  In 1952 Renata and Alex moved to Toronto where they raised their family.

Renata had a remarkable ability to connect with people of all ages; she loved to talk to them, hear about their lives, and celebrate their successes.  Renata spoke six languages.  She loved to travel and was a voracious reader.  She was warm, funny, bright, progressive and opinionated in her views, and an exceptionally loving wife and mother, and later grandmother.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Circle of Care (http://www.circleofcare.com) or the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care (http://www.tlcpc.org).  The compassionate support provided by these organizations made it possible for Alex, with the tender and dedicated help of Leticia, to care for Renata at home.
