On Thursday January 26 at Forestview Retirement Residence Rhoda passed away after a long life of 95 years.  She was the beloved wife of Phil until his death in March 2015. Her family meant everything to her. She leaves her children, Ellen and the late Dr. Paul Newman, Marsha and the late Rabbi Mark Dov Shapiro, and Ken and Susan Gilburt.

She was blessed with grandchildren; Harris and Dina, Josh and Jaimie,  the late Jordan, Daniel, Michael and Shalia, Devin and Nicole. She was doubly blessed with great grandchildren; Emmy, Milan, Tessa, Ezra, and Jaden who lit up her life so much.

The family wants to give heartfelt thanks to the devoted staff of the LHIN, and the diligent and hard-working people at Forestview where she lived for almost 4 years.
Anna Dulay, Catherine San Diego, the nursing staff and all the PSW’s treated her with such kindness, patience and devotion. We are so grateful for the work they do.
The funeral will be private and Shiva will also be observed privately and just for the family.
