Manny and I are so saddened by the passing of our dear Rivka. We loved having her participate in our family holiday dinners, and she brought much laughter and joy to our table along the way. We had a common interest in going to the casinos, which we talked about all the time. We will miss her terribly and she will always be in our thoughts and heart. Sharon and Manny

I was shocked to see Rivka’s death notice! I first met Rivka when she came to Toronto with your family. Our birthdays were a day apart so we were exactly the same age. She was put in my grade 5 class and we became instant friends since I had also come from Israel about 5 years before her. We remained friends for a long time and then lost touch. The last time I had lunch with her was a little after your mom passed away. It was great catching up. I feel so sad. During this difficult time, I’m wishing you no more sorrow. Gone way too soon😢

I am very sorry to hear this news. I worked in the same organization as Rivka and she lived in my community for many years. I recently caught up with her and had hoped to see her soon. She was a lovely woman.

My dear Rivka may your soul rest in peace I am so sorry to hear of your passing. I will miss talking and laughing with you and bringing those beef patties and Easter bun and cheese to your condo and the years of getting rides daily to and from work together for 38 years. Rest my dear and thanks for the memories. I will miss you Joan Dixon

I am so sad to hear that Riv has passed, and I send my deepest sympathy to her family at this time. Riv was one of the “good ones” and we in the library world can attest to her sense of fair play and her unerring support of those she loved. I shall always remember Rivka with great fondness. ❤️ Rivka, may you rest in much deserved peace.

I first met Rivka in 1998 when the library systems amalgamated, but didn't really get to know her well until we were working on the same task years later. Rivka was a no nonsense straight talker, with a fantastic sense of humour. We bonded over our mutual love for Barbra Streisand, and I remember fondly talking to her about our excitement when we both attended the same concert when she came to Toronto. Deepest sympathy to her family and all those who loved her. Rest in peace Rivka.

So sorry to get the news of Rivka's passing. Rivka was one of the first people I met when the library systems amalgamated years ago. I did enjoy working with her, and hearing stories and seeing pictures of her family out of town. She will be missed. I'm sorry I can't attend her service, but it will be in my thoughts.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Rivka. I met her at Highview Ave. Public school many years ago when she came to our grade 5 class. At the time she was one of the first Israeli people I knew who immigrated to Canada while we were students. She quickly adapted and learned to speak English. I remember her to be very bright and sweet. Sending condolences to her family and friends. Remembering Rivka with much fondness, Sheryl Meirovich Wolfstadt

We are heartbroken over the untimely passing of our dear friend, Rivka. Her and I have been friends for over 20 years - meeting at 7 Townsgate. She took to my children, Rhea and Michael and my grandson, Ethan, as if they were her own. She was kind, caring, loyal and generous to a fault, and always willing to lend a helping hand, no matter what the situation was. She will be thought of often and always missed. May she rest in peace.

Rivka first met my Mom when she started elementary school in Toronto. My Mom was the school secretary and Rivka often said my mom helped her to learn to speak English. She then met my brother when she went to junior high school and then finally me when she started high school. I have many fond memories of our friendship over the past 50+ years, especially the times she spent at our cottage. I will miss you dear friend - you will always hold a special place in my heart.

So sorry for this immense loss to family and friends of Rivka. I met Rivka many years ago Beverley Heights and Dwnsview High. She was a star on the Downsview basketball and volleyball teams. I would set the ball and she would spike it hard, straight down at the opponent. She was always full of power, and from reading some of the comments her good nature and power continued throughout her life which has ended much too soon. My sincere condolences.

I just heard the sad news of Rivka's passing. We lunched together when we worked at North York Public Library and then, after the city amalgamation, at the Toronto library. She always had a smile and a chuckle. I keep the fond and happy memories in my heart and wish her family the same.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Rivka's passing. Our friendships began at the Technical Services building of the the former North York Public Library and remained all these years. We shared so many happy times. One of the personal treasures in our home is a very beautiful little "petit point" embroidery that Rivka gave us as a house-warming gift decades ago. The stitches are so tiny and she worked and mounted it with with such skill. We will never forget your smile and all the happy times. Rest in peace dear friend, Kevin and Norman

The abhorrent acts committed by the globally recognized terrorist organization Hamas on the citizens of Israel are reprehensible. The blatant disregard for humanity and the destruction they have inflicted on our homeland and its people is heartbreaking. These atrocities have absolutely devastated our communities and many others around the world.

While Hamas may be working to create division amongst inhabitants of our homeland and throughout the globe, it is now more important than ever to stay unified as one. We would like to offer a place on our webpage for individuals in our community to share their messages of condolence to those who have been lost, their thoughts and prayers to all those who have been impacted, and their prayers of safety to those who are fighting for the security of Israel and its children

Please consider performing a Mitzvah in memory of those who have fallen.
