BRINKER, Robert – On Thursday, April 5, and surrounded by his “three girls”. Loving and devoted husband of Sandi for nearly 44 years. Amazingly supportive and doting father and father-in-law of Dawn and Melissa and Darren Kaplan. Adored brother and brother-in law of Gerry and Pearl Brinker, Arnie and Elaine Palmer, Harvey Palmer and Cathy Myers, and the late Claire and Ernest Herskovitz. Proudest Zaidie of Ellie and Ariana. Caring and thoughtful uncle and great uncle of his many nieces and nephews. Friend to everyone he met. The void he leaves will be felt forever by all who knew him.

My sincerest condolences. My mother, Winnie Chan, has been undergoing treatment for leukemia at Princess Margaret for a few years ago. We met Bob a few years ago, as his treatment schedule always coincided with my mom's treatment weeks. We would always hang out together in the waiting areas, and became fast friends. My mom's health is also quickly declining. It is sad to see friends go, especially ones that were going through the same journey. But it was this journey that brought us to meet Bob in the first place, and we are grateful for that opportunity. Wishing your family and loved ones peace and love. Michael Chan.

Dear Sandi, Melissa, Dawn and family. It was a very big shock to hear from Dawn that Bob had passed. I consider Bob a very good friend, even though we only knew each other for a short time through our mutual conditions with Leukemia and treatment at the Princess Margaret Hospital. Bob started the program a few months before me, so he was my mentor in the early stages of my treatment. He always had an answer about the hospital and knew all the nurses and their families; which impressed me immensly as I too like to know those whom I work with. Dear Sandy, Dawn and Melissa It is so hard for me to express my shock on learning the passing on of your loved one, Bob. In the short time we have known each other, we have developed a special bond, and we almost looked forward in meeting every 4 weeks at Princess Margaret; waiting patiently for our treatment, we conversed sometimes for hours. Often, our long dialogues were interrupted by a phone call one or more of you would make to him. I wish you to know, that he really appreciated these brief but meaningful conversations: I could see at the end of each one of these, a greater determination to bravely face the rest of his long day at PMH.
