It is with a heavy heart that our family announces the passing of our Queen, Roma Buchman (nee Rinde),  at the tender age of 92 who reigned over our family with a gentle touch and loving manner. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday January 9, 2026 after a long and full life.

She was predeceased in 2016 by her soul mate and cherished husband Jack, after 62 glorious years of  marriage. Though she learned to live with half a heart after his passing, her enduring faith and devotion to her family sustained her. The isolation of recent years dimmed her bright light but nothing could extinguish the love she carried for her children, Danny Buchman, Pauline (nee Buchman) and Mendl Schwartz, Annette (nee Buchman) and Mark Mincer. Missed forever by her sister, Fila Blitzer and sister in law, Lilianne Friedman.

Known as Nana to her grandchildren Benjie & Rebecca Schwartz, Nicole & Mark Titleman, Nicky & Avi Yurman, Laura & Adam Sheffer, Jason & Joey Bitton, Ethan & Jackie Buchman, Zev & Lielle Schwartz, Josh Raisin & Richard Glennie, Alyssa Mincer & Mallory Aroosi, Myles & Dagmar Schwartz, Taryn & Adam Swimmer, Ashley & Luke Shearer and Jesse Buchman and her 20 great grandchildren Miller, Logan, Rae, Jaxon, Ruby, Lynden, Jersey, Milly, Russell, Axy, Romee, Jack, Xavier, River, Hunter, Penny, Jaymes, Ty, Aidan and Emily. She has fortified a special relationship with each one with her gentle spirit and unwavering care.

A woman of quiet strength and boundless compassion, she was more of a saint than a woman — a guiding energy whose kindness touched everyone she met.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mendy Loewenthal and Dr. Laurie Morrison as well as her devoted caregivers — Merr Merr, Ellen, Alma, Loren, Kezia and Suzette — your compassion, patience, and unwavering care brought comfort, dignity, and kindness to her over these past several months and especially in her final days. Your dedication meant more to us than words can express. We are forever thankful for the love and humanity you showed our mom and our family.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her. Roma and Jack are finally reunited dancing in each others arms.
