There are no words Over the several decades we laughed, played guitar and got married and divorced attending and being part of each occasion. This summer was great jamming and reminiscing. You will be missed mate. Taken way too soon. Hope you are playing with some of the best up there.

Our thoughts are on all the wonderful times we shared with Ronnie here at the cottage on music nights. Ron was a great friend and help to Mim in the latter days of her life. We are all shocked and saddened by the loss of our sweet friend Ronnie. He will be missed greatly by all in our family. RIP RONNIE SUSAN & Mark Sager

My heartfelt condolences go out to a family that I grew up with. As a kid it seems I was at their house as much as I was at my own. Nothing can relieve the sadness of a loss like this, a guy who died way too young. Ron brought much joy to many. Ron and I spent years together living in Eurpoe playing in Bars and I knew a Ron that few knew. I will forever miss my best friend and I will keep his memory alive in my heart. Below is something I wrote in his memory: For Ron We were best friends from the time we were 9 years old. The moments we shared during our childhood & on the road were some of the best times and will always remain some of my greatest memories. As brothers sometimes do, we had amazing moments of synchronicity. Ron and I both began playing guitar within one week of each other back in late December of 1979. We ran into each other near the McDonalds at Steeles and Bathurst after not having seen each other for a while and both laughed as we discussed our new found love for the instrument. That moment rekindled our friendship and helped set us down a path of what turned out to be our lives shared passion. Ron generously allowed me to join him on the road playing Irish Pubs every night in Germany whenever I was able to make it over to Europe during my schooling even when I was unprepared. I will forever appreciate his believing in me. Eventually I also moved there and the band known as “THE FREAKS” starting playing their psychedelic acoustic shows. There are far too many tales to tell but I will share one that we always loved to spin: We were staying in Frankfurt on an off night, lodging in our favorite youth hostel. We decided to go out and get some food before our nightly well attended jam session at the hostel. You see that particular youth hostel had a beautiful glassed in garden room at the rear that held about two hundred people when totally full and every non-working night that we stayed there we would jam in that room with fellow travelers hanging out with us, all of us enjoying a generally festive time. Some our best jams ever, and we had a lot of great jams, occurred in that room. While out walking near Sachsenhausen we came upon an Argentinian Steak House and decided to stop in and get some food. We were met by an amiable gentleman who owned the place and did all of the cooking. It was early and we were the only patrons. As we began ordering we found that the owner spoke no English. The food arrived and it was the best food we had had in all of our travels. The owner sat with us and the discussions were memorable, not only for their subject matter but for the fact that I spoke with him in Spanish, Ron spoke with him in German and Ron and I spoke with each other in English. We all looked at each other and laughed as we chatted, marveling at what an amazing & endlessly fascinating world we lived in. Ron and I invented something that we called “The Game”, the rules being we would go back and forth each playing a song which had to be fully played, intro, words and ending and no song was to be repeated on any given evening. The game would end when one of us couldn’t come up with a song. And we never came to the end of the game…it lives on. I will miss reminiscing with Ron about this and a myriad of other memorable tales and I will forever keep my best friend in my heart. He changed my life for the better and he will be greatly missed. To Ron I say “I miss you & love you dude, and I will forever remember you…”

Dear Amy and Family, my sincerest and heartfelt condolences for the loss of your brother. I have fond memories of Ron growing up in the Hawkways and remember listening to him on end, play his guitar and flute. He was always kind and had a great laugh, not to mention a talented musician. Ron was an amazing guy. We went to elementary school and junior high together. We recently reconnected. He was archiving his musical performances. What an incredible musian! He was trying to support his fellow musicians too by promoting their works as well. God bless him
