Rosalie Cadesky passed away peacefully after a prolonged hospitalization on Sunday September 27, 2020, Erev Yom Kippur, at her home, the Weinberg residence in Vancouver.

She was born Rosalie Shaul on March 25, 1930 at Mt Sinai hospital in Toronto, Ontario. She grew up on Dundas St across from the Art Gallery of Ontario then on Palmerston Ave (Bathurst/Bloor) where she lived with her parents Anna and Dr. Nathan Shaul, her brothers David (Duddy), Norman (Valvel) and Harvey (Heshie) and her dog Pal, in the family home which also housed her father’s busy obstetrical practice. She attended Harbord Collegiate and University of Toronto where she studied psychology. She married Macey Cadesky of Owen Sound, Ontario and raised her three children. She subsequently lived on Haida Gwaii formerly Queen Charlotte Islands, BC and Vancouver BC where she worked as a teacher’s aide. After Macey’s death she moved to assisted living at the Weinberg Residence in Vancouver. She was lovingly cared for by staff and her daughter Nadine, who moved from Seattle to directly care for her for the last months of her life.

She is survived by her children Alan (Amy), Howard (Mira) and Nadine (Henry z”l), grandchildren Dan (Kim), Michael (Simone), Felice (Aaron), Rachel (Jason), Adam and Isaac, great grandsons Sidney and Cole, brothers David and Harvey, sisters-in-law Lil and Simma and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
