I spent many years at Associated , under dearest Rosalie as my principal. Rosalie was a true mensch. I will always remember how she treated her staff with kindness and respect. Her office was always neat as a pin and totally organized. I will always remember her as a kind, compassionate and caring individual Rest in peace dearest Rosalie. Dear Marvin and family I am so very sorry to hear that your Rosalie has passed away. We go back a long way. Marvin you grew up in Galt, a close friend of my cousin David. Then you moved to Toronto to begin your teaching career and met Rosalie. When you and Rosalie married and moved to your first apartment, you found ours for us in the building next to yours ..we then became neighbours as well as friends. When you and Rosalie moved to your first house, again you found our first house near yours. In later years when Rosalie was the principal of the Beth David branch of Associated I would visit with her in her office while waiting for my carpool. Rosalie was the school mom as well as the principal to all her students…I used to think that the stomaches, headaches and such that brought the kids to her office were slightly exaggerated in order to get the TLC Mrs Sniderman generously handed out. The kids loved her and she had the respect and confidence of all the parents. Many of her students became teachers themselves, following in her footsteps and example of what great teachers are made of. Marvin may the wonderful memories of the life you and your boys shared with Rosalie sustain you and support you all in the coming days. Rosalie was a woman of comfort to those who were hurting. A woman of wisdom to those who struggled to see the light. A woman of creative thought to all who were facing a stumbling block. I spent many years at Associated, and suspect I was one of Mrs. Sniderman’s “projects”. She managed to make me feel like she believed in me even while suspending me from school on what felt like a regular basis. I’m not sure I would have made it to adulthood without her sometimes tough love, and I read of her passing with great sadness. Mrs. Sniderman truly was one of the most influential figures of my childhood. I hope that you find comfort in these stories and in your own happy memories as you mourn her passing. very sory to hear that my beloved, dear friend Z"L, for 60 years, halcha l'olama . Our kids grew up together. I was driving them to assoiated Hebrew school. I will miss you.
