Rose (née Bornstein) Wolfstadt
March 21, 1928 – September 11, 2025
Rose Wolfstadt passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday afternoon at the age of 97½. Born in Toronto on March 21, 1928, Rose was the loving and devoted wife of the late Kelly Wolfstadt (1996) and later the beloved partner in life of the late Sam Stein (2023).
She was the cherished mother of Sandy, Steve, Mark and Allison, and the proud grandmother of Jessica (Cliff), Meghan (Dan), Bradley (Allegra), Kody (Sammy), and Kailey. She was also the adoring great-grandmother of Riley.
Rose will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Janet and Marlene, and by her sister Ann, of blessed memory.
Rose — “Nanny” to her family — lived 97 and a half incredible years. She loved her food, especially dim sum, and always wanted a taste of whatever everyone else was having. She delighted in her puzzles, with the jumble being a favorite, and could talk to anyone about anything forever. Above all, Rose was happiest when surrounded by family.
Open-minded and inclusive, Rose never stopped learning. She studied Mandarin as an adult, loved sharing stories, and brought warmth and curiosity to every conversation. Sharp as a tack, a fighter with a go-get-’em attitude, she welcomed everyone into her life. Her kindness left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
We are deeply grateful for her 97½ remarkable years, for the love she gave so freely, and for the lessons she leaves behind. May her memory be a blessing, and may she rest peacefully, forever in our hearts. 💙
