Dear Helen, Marlene, Neil and families We were so sad to hear of Mr. B's passing. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. We always looked for him at customs when we returned from a trip and unfortunately, we were never in his line. May you be comforted by your warm memories. He lived a good long life and left a wonderful legacy. May he rest in peace. and may you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

My condolences to the family Benson's and extended members. Mr B was a wonderful and kind man. I had the great honour to be on his crew on an acting assignment I was just a clerk at the time cr-2 he took to me and made sure I got the best training to be an inspector. He advised me to do my work and stay out of trouble and we'd will get along. Later I applied for a competition for PIA and I luck out to be on his crew I think he had something to do with it. I quickly learned his crew didn't need much supervision, everyone was happy to work on his crew as a well as other crew teams he treated everyone with respect. On a few occasions I got to drive him home as I lived in North York I had a small Honda civic, he was a very big man then he struggled to get in and asked me couldn't you have a bigger car !! So as we drove off in ring road old Terminal One I ask him Mr. Benson if I take a sharp left do you think we will flip over ? There was silent's for awhile until we got on the Highway he pipe up in a stern voice just drive we won't be making any left turns. Silence again I asked do you think I can stay on crew 15 ? He didn't say a word until I got him home, he says I need a ride tomorrow again Benkie's off that was his ride. Okay no problem that is one of the funniest moments I had with Mr B. Dear, Helen, Marlene, Neil and families. I first met Roy when I started working at the terminals in 1982. Over the years we had so many conversations and he was exceptionally kind to me in so many ways. He always talked so lovingly about Helen, Marlene, Neil and his grandchildren. I certainly knew the names of all his grandchildren. As the grandchildren married and had children, I heard all about his great grandchildren as he so enjoyed seeing and spending time with them. He kept in contact with me over the years and I last spoke to him in January 2022. At that time I could tell by his voice he wasn’t doing well. I never knew about his involvement with Camp Shalom, but am not surprised. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Roy, a very special man to me and so many others. Susan Reuby

Dear Helen, We have such special memories of you from our YJ days back in the sixties. You and Roy were a true love story and together with Marlene and Neil, such a happy, involved and nurturing family. We haven't seen any of you for a very long time and want you to know that we are very sad to read that Roy has died. He has left a wonderful legacy for the big family you have become through the years and a Shem Tov, a good name, from his time on this earth. Aunt Helen , Marlene , Neil and family . Uncle Roy was the baby brother but the big brother of the Benson family. His love and support of his parents and four older sisters and his entire family will always be remembered. We remember that whenever we flew into the airport he would come on the plane and escort us through customs. He will be missed by all who knew him.
