Weiss, Ruth (Bat-Ami), It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruth (Bat-Ami) Weiss on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her home. She always counted her blessings. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Josef Tzvi. Devoted mother to David (Claire) and Jonathan (Sabrina). Doting Savta to Sam, Simona, Jonah, Isabella, and Imogen. Loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt. Beloved colleague to so many at the Weizmann Institute and the Toronto District School Board.

Memorial donations may be made to Beit Halochem, Disabled Veterans of Israel 905-695-0611 or to the charity of your choice.

Shiva visits following the interment, Wednesday and Thursday 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Friday 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. every night except Friday.

I'll miss her alot alot alot. I'll never forget her. She was not only my aunt but a close, loyal, understanding and compassionate friend. She was a unique person. She had a kind, sunny outlook on life that rubbed off on others. My heart is broken.

Dear David and Jonathan. and families. Baruch Dayan Haemet. Andrea and I were so saddened to hear of your mom's passing. I used to live on 7 Elder St., across the street from your house. Both of you, especially Jonathan used to come over to visit my parents, Samuel and Lily Kirshenblatt z"l. They absolutely enjoyed your visits. I myself had a great time with Jonathan. I'd call him |Bummer boy" and he'd answer "I'm not a bumber boy" I remember both of your parents. Your Dad z"l was a hard-working man, a great parent who was very supportive when my parents passed away. I remember your mom z"l as a kind well spoken woman who was very proud of both of you. She and I would often meet in the street where we would have some long interesting conversations around various topics. I remember them both being at our wedding. I have known Ruth from the age of 18. That was 33 years ago. I can’t remember her not being in my life. Ruth was a beautiful and kind soul with so much love for the people in her life. She reminded me every time I would see her or speak to her on the phone to always count my blessings, stay positive and look at my amazing children. To take a step back and look at all the amazing things in my life. Some of my most wonderful memories are of her playing cards with Isabella or Chinese checkers with Jonah or hearing her talk to Simona about her school assignments. She never forgot a thing her grandkids told her and it showed them how much she loved and cared for them. She will be missed by us all but always shine in our hearts.

So very sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. I taught at Churchill PS when Ruth was secretary there. She helped me navigate through those first few years of teaching and I'll always remember her fondly. I taught at Churchill P.S. where Ruth was the ever patient, ever smiling secretary, who was never ever flustered and always made time for teachers and children alike. She was a gem. I can see her beautiful calm face in the lovely photo at the top of this message. My husband and I also remember meeting her dear husband who accompanied her to special end of term parties. My condolences go out to David and Jonathan and their families. May the many memories of your dear mother bring you much comfort and peace in the weeks and years ahead.

My deepest condolenc. I was very sad to hear of the loss of Ruth. She was a wonderful lady. I will always remember her warm smile, her sense of humour and her warm heart. I had the pleasure of working with her at Churchill PS for many years. She always kept an eye on my boys when they attended Churchill. She was the heart of the school. She will be dearly missed. Dear David and Jonathan, I was so saddened to learn of your mom‘s passing. I worked with Ruth at Churchill P.S. for four years from 1997-2001. She had a great sense of humour and a twinkle in her eye. She was practical and no-nonsense and she was very nurturing to me. I remember her often sharing stories about your accomplishments as she was a very proud mom of both of you! My sincerest condolences to you and the family.
