Dear Katz Family I am sorry to hear that Sadie had passed away. I have known Sadie since I was a little girl, she was truly a lovely lady May your memories comfort you all at this difficult time.

Sadie was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grand mother and great grandmother. She was a devoted friend and will be truly missed. May she rest in peace and be a "Gitta Beta" for all those who knew her and loved her.

NU! My Bubbie always greeted me with a “NU(or maybe it was New?)?”. I always understood it to mean, what’s going on with me, so my standard answer was Not Much! I spent countless weekends at my Bubbie and zaidy’s when I was a kid and I loved them! I got to bake sprinkle cookies with my Bu, as she was known as then, and then my zaidy and I would make popcorn! I have perfected my zaidy’s popcorn art but have yet to take on the sprinkle cookies! The main problem is that Big Bub(as she would later be called) had the recipe in her head so I never really saw it in front of me! I remember running around Yorkdale when I was a kid and going to Obie’s restaurant somewhere upstairs in Yorkdale (I think they gave kids hats with a feather in them) when my Bubbie finished work. I vividly remember where she worked in Eatons, (it was near the pet or fish area), and running to her station as soon as I got through the door! I was extremely extremely close with all of my grandparents but especially my Bubbie’s! They always always always saw the good in me even when there wasn’t any reason to! Big Bub was my biggest supporter and I considered her my friend too! I have so many wonderful memories from my childhood and into my adult years that involve my Bub. I started to realize how lucky I was to have so many amazing memories with 4 grandparents to keep with me pretty early on in my life and That always stuck out immensely! Big Bub is the last of the Mohicans and I am so happy all 3 of my kids got to get to know her and spend time with her before she got sick! She will be a source of inspiration for me for the rest of my life and I promise I will learn the sprinkle cookie recipe and make them as well as I make Zaidy’s popcorn!!! You may be gone but you will never be forgotten! Your Favourite (that’s right,I said it) grandson LEE SONNY KATZ XOXOXO OXO?
