Dear family and friends, Salomon was a truly a wonderful person, soft and gentle and yet so tough when it came to defending Israel. Salomon knew everything about Israel and her history. I loved talking to him and listening to him on the many occasions he spoke at one of our JDL meetings. I know he will leave a hole in everyone's heart that knew him. I know his soul souring above our beautiful country Israel as I write this. Good bye Salomon.

I only knew Salomon from phone calls but he sounded a real mensch who cared deeply for Israel., meaning for the Jewish nation, and fought to make sure Israel will not lose sight of what belongs to her i.e. the land, so many Israelis are/were in such a hurry to give away to their foes in return for empty promises. Salomon, the loss of people like you create a vacuum in our heart and our soul. May the angles protect you while you protect us from above.

Salomon was a gentleman in the truest sense; cultured and gracious no matter the circumstance or provocation. With his scholarship, wide-ranging interests and moral clarity, I believe he set an admirable standard for those committed to realizing Israel's proper place in the world, and its unlimited potential.

Sol was such a devoted lover and defender of Israel. I and the Jewish Defence League will miss him. We will not forget Sol. He had such an incredible mind that enabled him to teach people the truth about the legal rights of Israel. And he had a very warm nature. May G-d comfort Solomon and also bring all of us closer.

To the family and friends of Solomon Benzimra. His attention and focus on Israel's right to exist was noteworthy. He always seemed a very pleasant man and driven in his love for Israel and the Jewish people. May his memory be for a blessing and may all those who mourn him be comforted with all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and know no more sorrow

The Family of Salomon Benzimra and Goldie: I was saddened to hear of Salomon's death. He was a very distinguished gentleman and a true and loyal friend of Israel and Israel's history and it's certain right to exist as a nation. The few short conversations that I shared with him at different events and at Rennanahs and Joe's place were always pleasant and insightful. You should all be comforted with all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and know no more sorrow. May his memory always be for a blessing and he will be fondly and respectfully remembered by a lot of people for a very long time. This is the legacy that he left to all of us.

Dear Goldi (and all those who held Salomon dear): To say the funeral was heartwarming and filled with wonderful tributes would be an understatement. Lisa and I fondly remember your and Salomon's helpful contributions at our CJCE meetings, and at the meetings we also had in your lovely home. What I can add to all that was presented today is this: Lisa and I will incorporate Salomon's work into the history section of the "high school curriculum to fight anti-Semitism" that we are developing. (And we know Mark Vandermaas will be thrilled to help us!) Salomon's work was doing right by and for the Jewish people and for Israel. His work will be honoured, credited and carried forward in ours at CJCE. Blessings during this difficult time, Vera Held and Lisa Cohen, Centre for Jewish Culture and Education (CJCE)

I met Sam in 1983 and we worked together on projects around the world for almost 20 years. He was an engineer's engineer - incisive and honest in everything he did. A good friend, kind and adventurous. WE worked hard, but he showed me how to savour the moment. You are missed, Sam!
