Words cannot even begin to express my sorrow. Sami worked at the JCC for soo many years and he built a community of Bridge players and friendship. Samy was an instructor I could count on as a member of our team, and the growth of his program was very impressive. He will be missed by the JCC family. Andrea Daiam, JCC Coordinator.

We are saddened by Samy's passing. He was the nicest, sweetest, kindess gentleman. He was a mentor and a friend to me. He encouraged me to take the Bridge Director's course and it was an honour and a pleasure to work with him running the bridge games at Prosserman JCC and Schwartz-Reisman. Our deepest condolences. He will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched.

Samy taught us that the most important thing in Bridge was to respect your partner and your opponents. We began each round of play with a thank you to our partner. Each week, hIs kindness and patience and encouragement created a space of mutual affection and support. He will be greatly missed. May his memory be for a blessing.

Dear Simita, Michael, Jack and family, I want to extend my sincere condolences to all of you on the passing of your beloved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather Samy z"l. I am deeply saddened by the loss of a wonderful friend, an exceptional human being, a remarkable man who left an imprint in this world like very few people do. I have difficulty coping with the fact that Samy z"l is no longer among the living. He was such a kind and altruistic man, filled with compassion and always ready to help those in need. The best way to describe him is by calling him a tzadik. I will miss him dearly as we will all do and I will always remember the kindness and generosity of heart that he demonstrated towards my family, and most particularly my late sister. Samy z"l, I know that you are in Gan Eden because such place is only reserved for people with a noble character such as yourself. I pray Hashem to bestow upon you all the blessings of after-life! May you rest in peace and watch over all your loved ones! May Hashem give the strength to your family to endure such a painful loss! Amen!

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I always appreciated Samy’s smile and sense of humour. Thursday bridge has been the highlight of my week for 5 years, and I will miss him deeply as I look around the room and when I contemplate a bridge problem. Condolences to the family. Sam was my mentor, and guiding light in my career and personal life. He helped me so much, it is devastatingly tragic news of such a bright light. Sam was hilarious at times, and a true pleasure to be around. His mentorship and support enabled me to return to Toronto and begin my career. His memories live on in us all. I could never thank him enough for his influence and support.
