I remember well her graciousness and hospitality when I lived in Toronto the first time - over 55 years ago - and remember fondly her smile and friendship during my much longer life in Toronto, which began ten years later. Dear Sheila, I have fond memories of your mother. I was an occasional visitor to your home and your mother was always sweet and welcoming. My condolences.

I'm so sad to hear about your lovely, warm, affectionate mother. Our parents came to Canada from Italy together on the same ship, the Nea Hellas, following the Holocaust. They stayed close, and even a few years ago, while my mother was still alive, they would meet at concerts and events. The hugs and joy they shared at being together brought tears to my eyes every time. I know your mom lived a long life, but I imagine it's still so sad for you to lose her. Hugs for you all, Esther
